Employment at the CUB

Hiring for student employment positions within the Compton Union Building, Chinook Student Center and University Recreation occurs simultaneously each semester.

Attend a Hiring Session March 6 & 7

Hiring information sessions for positions in all three facilities will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, and Wednesday, March 7, in the CUB Auditorium. Hiring sessions will be for positions starting fall semester 2018.

All interested applicants must attend one hiring info session.

Applications for all positions are open Sunday, Feb. 18 through Sunday, March 11.

Open Student Positions

Attend a spring hiring session to learn more about the following positions.

  • Building Manager

    The Building Manager provides exceptional customer service, security, and facility management to students, guests, and staff at the Compton Union Building. The Building Manager serves as a CUB administrative liaison and point of contact for all meetings and events, and is responsible for providing assistance to the general operation of CUB facilities.

    Daily operations include supervision of all shift staff members, cleanliness of facility, set-up/tear-down of all equipment for events and programs, as well as the opening and closing of the facility.

  • Event Set-up Technician

    The Event Set-up Technician provides behind-the-scenes work in setting up and taking down event spaces in the CUB. Tasks can include, but are not limited to, setting up tables, chairs, podiums, risers and other equipment for events.

    Event Set-up Technicians provide exceptional customer service, security and facility management to students, guests and staff in the CUB.

  • A/V Technician

    The A/V Technician is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, event management, and audio and visual reinforcement for events scheduled in the Compton Union Building. This includes having a working knowledge of the audio and visual equipment and systems of the CUB and being responsible for setup, operation and take-down of all equipment. This position will also be highly interactive with customers and is expected to provide exemplary customer service.

  • Student Custodian

    Student custodial staff assist the full-time custodial staff in providing a safe, clean facility for the students, staff, faculty, alumni, and guests in the Compton Union Building.
